CareerChik Press Releases - Greeting cards for women from StrongCoffeeInk
In a world where women make up half the workforce - and buy 97 percent of the greeting cards - why do so many messages aimed at working women miss the mark?

"I can't tell you how often I've gone to look for a card that says what I want it to say, and it just didn't exist," says Molly Cox, founder and creative director of CareerChik, a new specialty greeting card company with a definite point of view.

"So I'm creating them myself."

CareerChik will offer savvy and sassy - not
sappy - cards designed for women who work.

"By using humor and tapping into what's on their minds, these cards will help working women connect with clients, co-workers and friends," says Cox, whose wide-ranging résumé includes management and sales positions for an upscale athletic club and two major hotels, founding and performing with an improvisational comedy company, more than 15 years of corporate training and professional speaking, and even a top-selling book on effectively using improvisation in the workplace.

Improvise This! How to Think on Your Feet so You Don't Fall on Your Face, published by Hyperion, has made the CEO READ Top 25 list twice, but Cox says writing shorter, punchier messages for the new CareerChik line has been both challenging and satisfying.

"There's a tremendous common bond among working women," she points out. "The trick is to tap into it with no wasted motion and then pay off with a message that resonates with both the sender and the receiver."

CareerChik makes a point of including the home among the many places women work.

CarrerChik cards not only say exactly what's on women's minds, they showcase smart, hip artwork created by Terry Cox-Joseph, an artist and writer (and Cox's sister). Both are working moms who know the most important job in the world is motherhood.

"Business is about relationships," she adds. "And women use greeting cards to nurture relationships. Now they have a line of cards that can help them connect, minus all the sappy sayings and saccharine illustrations."

CareerChik Cards are being marketed by Cox's company, StrongCoffeeink. For ordering information, go to www.careerchik.com.
